Yellow Group,
ReplyDeleteI really liked the options that you gave for your questions, what a great way to see results more clearly. I really enjoyed your "where do you like to read?" and "favorite time to read". I really wish that more students pick up reading at home and not just at school, but that doesn't seem to be the case.
Thanks for sharing and I can't wait to use some of your questions.

Yellow group, Your survey is very user friendly. The results are easy to read and easy for the students to choose an option instead of writing. Also it is probably easier to tally the votes for each question using this format. I would love to try this format with my own class. The only thing I would have to change is including pictures because I am a Kindergarten teacher and my students can barely read.Thank you so much for sharing.
ReplyDeleteHi Yellow group, that is an interesting survey you posted. It has good questions and would be easy for students to respond to. The response to how the students choose a book to read demonstrates the power of peers and first impressions. It's interesting that the students didn't check "books that the teacher or librarian suggested"! It demonstrates the developmental level of the 6th grade student. The responses to numbers 11 and 15 made me feel a little sad. I love to receive books as presents and I have many more than 29 books at home. The range in the number of books the 4/5th graders who completed our survey said they had was from 0 - 1000+. As Simone said in her comment, I would have to add pictures, or ask the parents of my preschool class to complete it. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteGreat survey yellow team! I like how the students were asked different questions about their reading habits. It must also be something that is equally interesting to them. All children who do like to read like to share their reading experiences with someone.
